We organise talks, workshops and networking events for creatives
There are three broad pillars to our events programming:
- Business skills
- Big ideas
- New technology
Each of these supports our primary aim of helping creative people thrive commercially.
Business skills
Arts graduates are more likely to be self-employed than graduates of any other degree subject, but they also rate their confidence in business the lowest.
We provide the business training that creative courses don’t.
Our talks and workshops address a range of topics, including:
- Marketing
- Sales
- Finance
- Contracts
- Intellectual property
- Industry specific knowledge
Big ideas
Traditional business training isn’t designed for artists – it’s designed for people who want to start businesses.
But artists often aren’t motivated by money. They’re driven by an inner need to create art.
What is this need? Where does it come from? Why did it evolve?
Our talks draw on a range of big ideas from psychology, neuroscience, anthropology and the wider social sciences to explore the meaning of the arts, and the role they play in society.
New technology
Artificial intelligence is radically changing the creative industries, and presents both risks and opportunities to creative professionals.
But other emerging technologies are also likely to impact creative workers in the coming decades.
Virtual reality / augmented reality, the metaverse, 3D printing and scanning, smart materials, wearable technology and biotechnology all have the potential to radically reshape the creative landscape.
Our talks and workshops focus on technological developments, and how creative practitioners can adapt.
